International Rescue Group's crew and volunteers will be at the Berkeley Yacht Club meeting prospective crew for our entry into the Baja Ha-Ha. Come meet us and see pictures of Thunderbird 1 and Thunderbird 2, which are entering the Baja Ha-Ha to cruise in company with the Latitude 38 fleet of well over 100 yachts. After Cabo San Lucas, Thunderbird 1 will become operational for disaster relief missions in Mexico on the North America Pacific cruising station (basically Panama to Mexico), and Thunderbird 2 will be continuing our voyage to the South China Sea via various destinations.
We will also have a large trawler Kinda Blue in the IRG Reserve fleet joining us, and Captain Jerome will also be at this Crew List party.
Afterwards, you can join us on Alameda for our "after party" and discuss our entry, boats and berths. NOTE: we need to commence final crew selections, as the Baja Ha-Ha rally entry deadline is September 10th - it's nearly time to make your commitments!
More information on the Baja Ha-Ha on Latitude 38's site (click here) for Mexico-Only Crew List Party and Baja Ha-Ha Reunion, Berkeley YC in the Berkeley Marina, 6-9 p.m. Entry is free for Captain and First Mate from each 2012 paid entry; $7 for everyone else. There will be a no-host bar, door prizes, and free snacks. Mexico cruising experts will also be on hand.
