Latitude 38's Baja Ha-Ha cruiser's rally departs from San Diego October 28th and concludes November 10th 2012. T2 will be joining the rally to commence our transit to rescue station in the South China Seas!
Why are we joining the Baja Ha-Ha? Because there will be about 130 cruising yachts, some of which go on to become a part of the estimated 10,000 cruising boats around the world. Part of IRG's mission is to engage this fleet and bring them into a global online network, calling upon volunteers to provide humanitarian aid in the case of coastal disasters.
So with a large and fun crew, we plan to join the Baja Ha-Ha fleet, have a little fun, but far more important, sign up IRG Captains and vessels!
We will be screening applications for volunteer crew for this voyage, see Events for more information. CREW SELECTION WILL BE COMPLETED (YOU MUST JOIN THE CREW LIST DISCUSSION AND SELECTION GROUP FOR MORE INFORMATION HERE) September 8th after the Latitude 38 Baja Ha-Ha Crew List Party on September 5th (click here to sign into the Crew List Party!)
Fair winds and following seas,
Captain Ray

Comment by Captain Ray Thackeray, IRG on September 21, 2012 at 10:31am Hello all,
I think I confused things a little by creating this as an Event as well as a Group. Please check in on the Group (click here) which is Thunderbird 1's official website and everything's being coordinated there. I'll delete this Event to avoid further confusion.
NOTE: There are still 3 berths available, reply as a comment in the above Group and Captain Jack will reply.
Cheers,
Captain Ray
Hello Richard,
Thanks for applying! We don't have a schedule or criteria yet for crew selection, but that will be on the way in the next month or so. However, it'll mainly revolve around volunteer status and rewarding the people who have helped us get to where we are now in building Thunderbird 2 and fundraising...
To get connected and introduce yourself, please feel free to join in our many work parties and meet our group! We have a lot of varied things that need doing before we can set sail...
Cheers,
Captain Ray
