Event Description

IN THE WATER AT DOCK ONE LAST WEEKEND! No special skills needed, here's a sample of some projects we have lined up:

  1. We are still clearing space in the cargo hold for our new generators - a lot of equipment needs to be sorted out and cleaned ready for installation
  2. Leading heavy wire ready to hook up generators
  3. Cleaning up the work area for welding generator mounts (wire brushing)
  4. Clean up a donation of recycled marine fuel filters
  5. Wire brushing the flybridge and painting the superstructure
  6. Grinding scuppers and hawsepipe

Few skills required, you will be shown how to operate the grinder, wire brush etc. For someone who is mechanically inclined, we have a broken saw table that needs repairing...!

All tools provided, it would be great if you have your own overalls or work clothing, and preferably leather gloves, though we have various overalls, leather gloves and eye protectors on board.

Very important - there will be plenty of "refreshments" and dinner party at the end of the day to celebrate our accomplishments!

OK Sounds good. Wendy has organized a Family picnic on Sunday but I'll see if I can slip away later in the afternoon for a few hours of quality grinding.

I was wondering where that DeWalt yellow grinder came from, forgot you left it!! But yes if you have the time, those hawseholes only need a little "tickling" now to make them look great! Perhaps you can do the same to the aft scuppers, then we'll slap paint on to finish the job...

Ray,

I have family in town this weekend for my daughters graduation but I will try to get away for a few hours of grinding on Sunday afternoon. Did I leave my yellowgrinder over ther last time?  I'd like to finish those hawser holes!!

Regards,

Dale
