Event Description

Hauled out and in Nelson's Marine Yard! No special skills needed, here's a sample of some projects we have lined up:

  1. We are wire-brushing the bilge to paint and install electric propeller drive motors
  2. Leading wiring ready to hook up generators to power panel
  3. Clean up a donation of recycled marine fuel filters, which we'll bolt to a bulkhead
  4. Wire brushing the flybridge and painting the superstructure
  5. Grinding scuppers and hawsepipe
  6. Belt-sanding the hull ready for painting topsides
  7. Plumbing shower and heads

Few skills required, you will be shown how to operate the grinder, wire brush etc. For someone who is mechanically inclined, we have a broken saw table that needs repairing...!

All tools provided, it would be great if you have your own overalls or work clothing, and preferably leather gloves, though we have various overalls, leather gloves and eye protectors on board.

Very important - there will be plenty of "refreshments" and dinner party at the end of the day to celebrate our accomplishments!

The boat has a prominent International Rescue Group banner - turn hard left at Nelson's Marine gate and we're around the back of the building.
