We have a booth: Strictly Sail Pacific Boat Show Oakland April 12-15th

Click here for more information. We're in booth 813! Strictly Sail Pacific provided IRG a significantly discounted nonprofits deal for our booth.

There are plenty of parties, including the Latitudes & Attitudes Cruisers’ Bash, Sat, April 14 from 7-9pm and Celebrate TGIF, Fri, April 13 at 6pm. We'll be there!

This is the biggest boat show in the Bay Area and dedicated to sailors. I'm planning the things we need in our booth and any off-the-wall ideas to implement for fundraising.

One great thing is that many marine equipment suppliers will be there, so we do need to network with them. I need to print official IRG business cards for our team... we still need donations of some major equipment so that we can call our ship properly equipped, including a 1,000 gallon/day watermaker, fuel polishing equipment, drum windlass, electronic instruments etc.

Let me know if you're interested in volunteering for booth time,

Captain Ray

Hi Ray,

I plan to be at the show on Saturday and Sunday. I'm taking some courses and checking out the suppliers. I can put in a couple of hours of booth duty if you like.

As far as unique ways to raise money. Let me see...

-How about a nice wrist band that you can buy for $5 to show your support? ( Colored elastic Band with IRG website address)

-How about a 50/50 draw- Does your charity license allow it?  Have a daily draw where you must be present to win. Think of all of the new names and email addresses you would have for your contact list and all of the people that would show up at the end of the day.

-Is there some type of closed loop slide show that you could put together that shows natural disasters happening, aid workers and some details on IRG. It might draw people into the booth

Hope this helps

Dale
