Hurricane Matthew Response Logistics

5-MAY-17: IRG has run 8 sailboat missions to Haiti, to Mole St. Nicholas, La Gonave, Les Cayes and Ile a Vache since Hurricane Matthew. IRG has also funded the building of a well pumping station and piping in Ile a Vache so that the town of Kaykok will receive running water for the first time in 3 years. Mission Accomplished!

LOADING CARGO: Monday 12th to Wednesday 14th December at Capones Flicker Lite, Hollywood parking lot 7:30am to 10:20am. IRG has two of our own boats sailing, one already there plus one affiliate IRG Reserve boat helping in Haiti. This page is to help us coordinate sourcing and delivery of supplies.

1. IRG S/V Rendezvous Cay, Captain Matthew (oh the irony), 50-foot catamaran, departing Hollywood Florida mid-November. Destination: Ile a Vache. Time anchored in Port Morgan: touch-and-go, will drop off supplies and depart. Looking for crew. Cargo: Cargo for Little Footprints, Big Steps, Les Cayes, 40 recycled sails for subsistence fishermen. Presently has about 400 cubic feet available to be allocated. Departing FL Dec 14th.

2. IRG S/V Thunderbird 5, Captain Ray, 97-foot ketch, departing mid-November. Cargo: open. Available space approx. 5 tons / 1000 cubic feet plus deck cargo. Destination Port Morgan, Ile a Vache. Can lie at anchor in clean anchorages around Ile a Vache and pump approx. 6,000 litres potable water per day from watermaker as needed. Available to stay at least 2 months running watermaker 24x7 without refuelling. Departing FL in convoy with Rendezvous Cay.

3. IRG S/V Tandemeer, Captain Sequoia, 56-foot ketch, already in Ile a Vache, Haiti working on water projects.

4. IRG Reserve S/V Bamba Maru, Captain Bamba, 45-foot catamaran, departure Luperon, Dominican Republic now working in Ile a Vache, Haiti.

5. Remote Air Medical, Flight Captain Joe Hurston, air drop of water filters and meals emergency program now completed.

Rendezvous Cay sailing from Ft Lauderdale to Haiti about Dec 10 weather permitting.
