I'm wondering if the captain of this two year voyage is going to have time to do otherwork or if this is a full time commitment.
Hello Chad, I hope this helps explain things; we're actually still working on our policies, so apologies they were not totally clear up front.
In essence, we are obtaining donated boats to put aboard volunteer crews, all around the world, who can respond to emergencies on IRG's request, who will promote our mission to the yachting/cruising community and encourage them to sign up into the IRG Reserve, will fly the IRG banner wherever they go and enthusiastically discuss IRG, keep an eye open for possible boat donations and generally keep a clean wake and act as IRG's ambassadors, remembering at all times that our central mission is to save lives after disasters.
We don't want to put any other restrictions upon an IRG Boat's crew, except to agree a "Cruising station", keep in touch with IRG whenever in reach of the internet and to keep the vessel maintained, as any crew would do naturally.
Beyond that, a crew may find paying work, or simply enjoy their cruising grounds!
